I have been asked numerous times recently how I construct my clusters. I actually learned how to do clusters from Jana Morton classes and studying them in different galleries and layouts. I usually start with a vertical element-I love using branches and stems, or a flourish, and sometimes a vertical shaped brush or paint. Twists work well vertically too. Then I go with what I want that goes with my layout-flowers, leaves or even a tag or label. When I use flowers I try to stay with odd numbers of them and stack them slightly. I need something horizontal to go above the vertical element. After that I tuck elements in that will look good and tie in with my page. Sometimes It will be a clock, or a heart, or a button or flair. Don't forget ribbon and bows. For digital pages I add drop shadows to every element so I have some depth and dimension. That's it! I hope this helps.
Here’s an example: I used a brush by Erica Zwart as the base, then a vine and branches, and then four flowers by Jana Morton clustered together.

Here’s this week’s edition!
The Journaling reads:
This week has been a little slow. I added exercise back into my life now that I am feeling better. I have been walking on my treadmill. So far I have stuck to walking 30 minutes a day. I am also starting to reorganize my home. I started with my laundry room which tends to be a dumping grounds. I did get my shelves done where I store extra pots and pans, dishes and small electrical appliances.
We also lost a longtime family friend this week. Jeanie was 83 and had been a school friend of my mother's. I had babysat her kids, then they babysat mine, and then my DD babysat their's.
I looked out the back door Saturday and saw all these geese in the field behind our home. I counted about 40 of them! Also had a red-bellied woodpecker at the suet feeder! We finished off the week by attending a retirement party for one of the firefighter's Bob worked with. He had been with the fire department for 35 years. I thought Bob was looking good! We played pool with friends at their home afterwards. Bernie & I beat Bob and Danny 3 out of 4 games!!!!

of Project Life. I am going to be documenting life a weekly basis. I am also using templates by Jana Morton that make this project easier. I just drop in the photos and add some journaling and I am done. I am using Capture Your 365 by Katrina Kennedy for daily prompts on photo taking. I even used my tripod and remote for the pic of me taking down the tree ornaments. Yes a self-portrait that was not a selphy! I get fun little photo tips every day also. Hopefully my photography skills will improve also. So here’s my layout.
