Catch of the Day

Our family & friends went to a fishing derby for the kids. It was a great day-Maggie caught a 10-12 inch wide-mouth bass.   Bobby caught his first fish-a blue gill, and won a new fishing pole. The guys running this also cleaned and fried the fish that was caught. A wonderful time was had by all.

Splish Splash I Was Takin’ A Bath!

I was in the flower beds taking photos of my flowers and a robin landed about a foot from me, and got into the pan of water we had set out for the birds.  To my surprise he began taking a bath. He even put his head under the water.

Last week of my class All Star Graphics over at Creative Passions-we are always sad when our classes end over there. There is so much class participation and we all love chatting about our techniques and pages that it is sad when it comes to an end. Here are my two layouts for this week. Maggie Slow Down

Maggie and I were baking today and I realized how much she has grown in many ways.  the journaling reads:

Oh Maggie slow down!

I can’t believe how much you have grown-not just in size, but in life. I remember putting you up on the kitchen stool to help me bake cookies. I would let you pour small things from a bowl into the large mixing bowl and have pics of you licking a little dough from the mixer beater. Today you put all the ingredients for the cake mix into the bowl, turned on the hand mixer and mixed all the ingredients together.  We were using the hot cake pop maker, or you would have put the batter in the pans too. You are growing so fast,  soon I will wake up and you will be cooking an entire meal, and getting married.  Please slow down and let me enjoy doing things with you a little longer.

I am a happy camper!

I had to see what a photo I took with my new Canon EOS Rebel looked like scrapped and enlarged-hoping it was not going to be grainy! So I scrapped this page tonight. I extracted and enlarged the photos and I love it! I guess I will keep that new camera!

Remember to Harvest the Memories

The journaling reads:  
I took a walk down memory lane today. I went to the Gorge park where I used to hang when I was a kid. We climbed all over this park in those days,  and knew it like the back of our hands. We went there to ice skate as often as we could. It was a ten minute walk from where we lived.  It looks a little different now as they have built wood walkways to get to the dam, and river.  We used to  slide down the hills to get to the paths.  I have to say it was nice to walk the walkways now that I am older.

Two Sweet Valentines!!!

Here are two layouts of the grands from Valentine’s Day. Their parents took them to Build-A-Bear and they got to make their stuffed animals. Maggie named hers Kimberly and Bobby named his Fuzzy! I think they both found very loving homes!!!!

Hiking

My daughter Becky and her longtime friend Pam earned their hiking staffs this fall from the local Metro Parks by hiking eight of the local hiking trails. So proud of them!!!!

Our Fine Feathered Friends

A volunteer of the local Metro Parks, Jerry Cannon, captured this photo of five beautiful cardinals and a titmouse-my favorite, sitting in a bush in one of our local parks. I have an arrow pointing to the titmouse in case you can’t see him.  I just had to share this beautiful photo with others as some parts of the US do not get the pleasure of seeing the cardinals!
