Holiday Memories!

I did another challenge for The Moments-this time the sketch challenge! My sweet neighbor Barb took these photos in her family room which she decorates like a photo studio. She caught this great photo of Bob & I with our grandchildren surrounded by gifts while sitting on the hearth. What a beautiful backdrop! Great photo if I say so myself!

9-5 Dog!!!

This is layout of Bob and the dog next door-our 9-5 Dog! His owner works so we kind of keep an eye on him when she's not there! If it's extremely cold, or hot we bring him indoors at our house and take care of him until it's about time for her to come home!
I did this for a challenge over at The Moments! Thanks for looking!

The Nativity Set!

I actually have two posts today. I wanted them done separately-no special reason just thought they would be better that way. My Nativity set is very special to me. It may seem silly to others but the story of mine is a story I think about every year when I take it out of it's box. I wanted to include these kind of stories in my journal for my family to have so they understand why things are special to me.

Trimming the Tree!

The next page I have done for my journal of Christmas is the Manifesto which is page one of my journal. It mainly tells why I am journaling Christmas.

Then we have the fun part of trimming the tree! I normally dread trimming the tree but this year I was home alone, it was quiet and I could take, mine time and I actually enjoyed doing it! I love turning all the lights off and sitting quietly by the tree lights and thinking of Christmas' past

A Walk in the Park

Good Morning World! This is a layout I did last night for the Recipe Challenge over at The Moments. The photo is one I took at Kendall Lake in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, when we took the grandchildren for a walk in the park. I love this photo so much, and I think the MME patterned paper is perfect to showcase it. The flowers are by Prima, and the letters and patterned paper that is matting the photo are BG. The recipe called for 1 piece cardstock, 2 patterned papers, and 3 flowers.

Thanks so much for looking!!!

Lots of Scrapping going on!!!

This is a halloween card I made for the Impromptu Challenge number 4 over at The Moments website. I made the little spider from a brad and Stickles. The following card was for Impromptu Challenge # 2 where you needed to use a stamp!

This layout I did last night for Fast-Trak Friday Night Sketch Challenge. We were to do an intrepretation of Sketch # 37 by Susan Stringfellow from SketchSavy.com.
This layout I did just because I wanted to! I love this photo. It was taken at Kendall Lake at the CVNP. I loved the way the photo popped on this paper. The quote reads: "Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting, and autumn is a mosaic of them all." by Stanley Horowitz.

Holiday Thinking Inking-Week 2

These are two cards I made for the Thinking Inking Holiday Challenges at Two Peas In a Bucket with Jennifer McGuire, guest designer.
This first one Heartfelt Thanks also was made of scraps so it qualifies for the Go Green Challenge at CM for this month. I stamped the leaves on watercolor paper with one of the stamps in the French Foliage Collection by Stampin Up and some Distress Inks by Ranger. Then you mist them with water, and handcut them.
This second one is Block inking with distress inks . I then stamped the snowman and colored his hat and scarf and touched up with Stickles. The snowflakes are brads touched up with Stickles.

Gap Clock Tower, Lancaster PA.

While we were in Lancaster County Pennsylvania last week with Pat & Dale we were driving around looking for covered bridges and stone barns and we ran across this great clock tower sitting right there in the middle of the town of Gap! The journaling reads that it was built in 1892 in Lancaster County. It supposedly overlooks the Gap where William Penn entered Conestoga in 1701, now Lancaster County, PA. It is quite beautiful! Thanks for Looking!

Autumn Splendor

Here's a layout I did for the BladeMaster's October Challenge which I combined with Stamping Month. I stamped and hand-cut all the leaves, then layered them into this beautiful border. I then tucked in some acorns and voila! The frame, acorns, and title were all cut with my Silhouette. The leaves were stamped with Stampin Up's French Foliage set, and Hero Arts Leaf border stamp. I must tell you the leaves made with the SU French Foliage look so real, Maggie even ask me if they were real and she was holding it in her hand. I used mostly Antique Photo distress ink. I did heat emboss some of them, the patterned paper leaves were also stamped with gold ink but it doesn't show up well in the photo. Thanks so much for looking!
